Meet Our Family: Adventure Seekers, Culture Lovers & Nature Chasers

Hello and welcome to our little corner of the internet. We are Dave, Charlotte, Elliott and Felicity, a family of four originally from the UK currently living in Lithuania. Two full-time working parents with two curious, energetic kids who keep us on our toes (and constantly Googling the next place to explore). We plan on making the most of every opportunity to explore and travel the world.

As a family who over the years have always tried to embrace adventures. Sometimes through nothing more than choice or curiosity but sometimes to fit around life and having to work to fund life with two children. We moved multiple times within the UK and for some perspective; Elliott had lived in 4 houses before he was 2 years old… then in 2024 redundancy forced a big life decision and prompted a move overseas.

As a family we love the outdoors, from snowboarding, biking, camping, sometimes hiking (with multiple snacks) and anything else that gives us a chance to explore and move. We have found generally we are happier out in nature than in cities, crowds and tourist hotspots are not our thing, You would more likely find us at any tourist destination exploring before opening and the crowds arrive.

Like many families, we juggle the usual school, extra curricular activities, planning work meetings, and endless laundry… but what really lights us up is travel.

Not just any travel, though.

We’re all about meaningful adventures — the kind that get your boots muddy, teach you something new, and let you breathe a little deeper. We love discovering places steeped in culture, surrounded by nature, and preferably far away from the crowds. Whether it’s hiking through national parks, getting lost in a local market, or camping under the stars, we believe in making the most of our time together.

And yes — we work full-time (not remotely). We squeeze travel around school holidays and annual leave calendars (Dave has a standard entitlement). But, we’re proof that you can still create incredible memories as a family, even if you’re not travelling full-time. With a bit of planning (and a lot of snacks), anything is possible. We live by a family motto inspired by some words spoken at a grandparents funeral, this passed from her parents:

WORK HARD - DREAM BIG

Nothing comes for free but you can make anything happen with enough effort and hard work.

This blog is our way of documenting the journey — the wins, the mishaps, the hidden gems — and hopefully inspiring others to chase adventure in whatever way works for them.
